You've heard the adage 'you are what you eat' as it applies to discussions about the link between nutrition and your physical health. Now, researchers are uncovering new information about the affects nutritional patterns, stress, inflammation-and even supplements can have on your mood and mental health.
On October 22, 2013 the University of Utah College of Nursing invited members of Women Interested in Nursing (WIN), a community of women who are interested in and supportive of the work at the College of Nursing, to hear from psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner ElLois Bailey, MSN and PMHNP-BC, as she shared important evidence about how stress, nutritional patterns, and inflammation affect your mood. Bailey also explored how supplements can help-or in some cases, may hurt your mind-body health.
