Graduate Fellowship Package

The University of Utah Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence is able to offer most PhD students in the geriatric focused cohort a graduate fellowship package through the Ray and Tye Noorda Geriatric Nursing Scholars program.

Graduate Fellowship Packages:

  • In-state tuition
  • 50% full-time tuition waiver (fall and spring term)
  • Annual stipend ($7200) to defray educational expenses

A limited number of Research Assistantships are available to distance and local students which qualify students for full tuition waiver and health benefits. Follow this link for information on financial aid for PhD Education.

The American Academy of Nursing, with support from the John A. Hartford Foundation and the Atlantic Philanthropies, seeks applicants for:

**The Predoctoral Scholarship program which is designed to support 2 years of doctoral work for nurses committed to careers in academic geriatric nursing. The program awards $100,000 ($50,000 per year) to each selected candidate.

**The Claire M. Fagin Fellowship provides $120,000 for the 2-year fellowship ($60,000 per year) for advanced research training and mentorship to assist doctorally-prepared nurses committed to faculty careers in geriatric nursing.

The Mayday Fund provides an additional $5,000 award to selected scholar and fellow candidates whose research includes the study of pain in the elderly.
