Prerequisites
Completion of all 10 nursing prerequisite courses prior to entry into the program is required. The six (6) nursing prerequisite courses marked by (*) must be completed and graded at the time of application. It is the applicant's responsibility to submit updated information, grades, etc., to ensure completion of information and subsequent review of your application. All prerequisite courses must have a Grade of C or better.
Please note the following:
- Weber States's Biomedical Core does not fulfill prerequisites.
- University of Utah CHEM 1210 cannot be taken instead of CHEM 1110. CHEM 1210 does not cover the breadth required in CHEM 1110.
- University of Utah CHEM 1210 and 1220 = CHEM 1110.
- University of Utah CHEM 2310 and 2320 and 3510 = CHEM 1120.
- Calculus does not count for Statistics.
- Bio-Organic Chemistry: if the institution you are attending does not offer a bio-organic chemistry course, you must take organic chemistry I & II AND biological chemistry with corresponding labs
- Growth & Development: needs to cover the entire lifespan (both child and adult)
- Nutrition Intervention: Must include nutrition in the prevention of chronic disease - foods and nutrition does not fulfill requirement
All prerequisites indicated by an asterick (*) must be completed before applying, no exceptions. If these are not completed, it is required to wait until the next application cycle.
If a course is not listed on the College of Nursing Course Equivalency Chart below, it is the sole responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the course meets the prerequisite requirements by contacting the College of Nursing.
