Prerequisites

Current Licensed RN's Only

Completion of all 9 nursing prerequisite courses courses prior to entry into the program. It is the applicant's responsibility to submit updated information, grades, etc., to ensure completion of information and subsequent review of your application. All prerequisite courses must have a Grade of C or better.

If a course is not listed on the College of Nursing Course Equivalency Chart below, it is the sole responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the course meets the prerequisite requirements by contacting the College of Nursing.

Please note the following:

   NEW co-requisite requirement - MICROBIOLOGY
       - REQUIRED for 2010 admission

   General Biology is not required for Fall 2010 admission.

CHEM 1210 cannot be taken instead of CHEM 1110. CHEM 1210 does not cover the breadth required in CHEM 1110.

Calculus does not count for Statistics.

Weber State's Biomedical Core does fulfill prerequisites if you graduated from the Weber State ADN program.

Bio-Organic Chemistry: if the institution you are attending does not offer a bio-organic chemistry course, you must take organic chemistry I & II AND biological chemistry with corresponding labs

Growth & Development: needs to cover the entire lifespan (both child and adult)

Nutrition Intervention: Must include nutrition in the prevention of chronic disease - foods and nutrition does not fulfill requirement
