RN-BS Online Program

Program of Study

New cohorts are admitted each year to begin in the Fall Semester (mid-August). Students will be enrolled part-time, for four consecutive semesters, completing the program the following Fall (mid-December).

The RN-BS program is an ONLINE program.  The program of study is based on the premise that the registered nurse student successfully complete a series of ATI examinations in the following areas: pediatrics, obstetrics, adult medical-surgical and mental health nursing (students will receive 30 upper division credit hours after passing the examinations).  In addition, registered nurse students must successfully complete all prerequisite courses and meet all university requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree, including general education requirements. Upper division bachelor's degree requirements, including Quantitative Reasoning [QI], upper division writing intensive course(s) [CW], diversity [DIV], and international [IR] will be fulfilled in the RN-BS Program of Study.

Students will be required to attend a two day on-campus intensive orientation at the beginning of the program. Students will be assigned to clinical sites within a reasonable proximity of their home both Third Semester (45 hours) and Fourth Semester (120 hours). For the program of study for the Geriatric Nursing Leadership specialty track, click here.
