Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Submission Requirements

Students who wish to be considered for financial need awards or merit awards that consider financial need concurrently must submit a FAFSA.

The bulk of the College of Nursing awards are a combination merit/financial need awards. Students must show a baseline level of need to be considered on merit. The FAFSA is not the sole determining factor for need awards. The College of Nursing Scholarship application provides an additional section to provide financial need information that may not be considered by FAFSA.

Prospective and current students should submit a FAFSA application by March 1st. Find more information about FAFSA from the University of Utah Financial Aid Office.

Review Process

The review process will occur between February 5th and the first week of April. We anticipate notification letters will go out during the 1st and 2nd weeks of April.

Please note, applicants to our programs will be submitting a funding application without knowing their admission status. Only students who are admitted will have their application file reviewed. The College requires applicants to programs to submit a funding application early to ensure we can send funding notifications out in April. Basing our scholarship deadline on admission notification dates would push back funding notifications to mid-summer.
