Nanci McLeskey was recently notified that she has received the award of Distinguished Education in Gerontological Nursing from the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence (NHCGNE). This award will be presented at the NHCGNE Leadership Conference in Boston on November 12-14, 2018. This is a tremendous honor for Nanci and such an important recognition in her teaching excellence.
Recently, our amazing Caring Connection grief counselors were designated as “Utah Business Healthcare Heroes” for their ongoing and important work in providing group grief counselling to hundreds of Utah suicide and traumatic death survivors. Facilitated by our own College of Nursing staff and faculty under the direction of Kathie Supiano, the Caring Connections program consists of more than 50 volunteers (social workers, psychologists, APRNs, counselors, and chaplains) who donate their time to assist individuals and families through their grief at the loss of a loved one. https://utahbusiness.com/september-2018/ Dr. Ann Hutton is featured.
