Here is the excerpt on Nancy Allen, VPCAT Scholar 2015-2016:
In January 2020, the Insider published an article entitled, “The 10 US states that exercise the least, according to the CDC, which featured Dr. Allen’s work on adapting diabetes care for the Hispanic community. As physical inactivity and chronic metabolic conditions, such as diabetes, increase across the US research into innovative ways to combat this rise become ever more important.

Here is the excerpt on Michelle Litchman, VPCAT Scholar 2017-2018:
Dr. Litchman's most recent research has been making headline after headline, and quite rightly, too! Patients who are unable to afford diabetic care and treatment have been turning to the black market, via social media in many cases, to obtain life-saving medication and devices.
Healthline , Reuters , US News & World Report , KUER , UPI , Science Friday , Deseret News , Vice , News Medical , along with the U of U Health Press Release and many others have reported on Dr. Litchman's article entitled, " The Underground Exchange of Diabetes Medications and Supplies: Donating, Trading, and Borrowing, Oh My! " originally published in the Journal of Diabetes Science and Technology.
This work has been instrumental in calling attention to the spiraling cost of diabetes care in the United States and the lengths that patients have to go to in order to survive.
