The programs and centers available through the College of Nursing are diverse, giving students a choice of exceptional experiences in the health care field. Each program and center works towards innovative solutions and practices in a rapidly changing industry with a shortage of skilled nurses and nursing leaders.

Center of Excellence for Exposure Health Informatics (CEEHI)

The Center of Excellence for Exposure Health Informatics (CEEHI) is a multi-disciplinary center co-led by Nursing Informatics and Biomedical Informatics faculty and collaborators. Interprofessional teams of researchers (and families) integrating genetic, environmental, behavioral, person-generated, and clinical information to advance precision health and health care transformation.

College of Nursing Simulation Center

The College of Nursing is the home of one of the nation’s premier facilities for simulation based learning in health care.

Family Caregiving Collaborative

A growing, but largely unseen, group of family caregivers is quietly providing the healthcare many Americans receive. Their unpaid work is valued at $470 billion nationally ($4.2 billion in Utah) and often comes at the expense of caregivers health. The Family Caregiving Collaborative supports the advancement of person-and family-centered care, where patients and caregivers define their "family" and determine how they will participate in care and decision-making.

Gerontology Interdisciplinary Program

The Gerontology Interdisciplinary Program administers educational offerings leading to the undergraduate and graduate certificates in gerontology and a Master's degree in gerontology.

The Utah Geriatric Education Consortium (UGEC): A Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP)

UGEC was established in order to improve long term health care through the education of the workforce providing associated services. This includes the health professionals attending the University of Utah and those providing long term care throughout Utah. A secondary purpose of the program is to increase understanding amongst the aforementioned groups and the community in general.

Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence

The goal of the University of Utah Hartford Center of Geriatric Nursing Excellence is to expand the number of highly qualified faculty and clinicians in geriatrics and gerontologic nursing to educate tomorrow’s leaders in advancing science and provide the highest quality of direct care for older adults. Individualized learning opportunities provide rewarding career paths for Master of Science (MS) in Nursing in nursing education and care management for emerging health care models.

My University Signature Experience (MUSE)

The College of Nursing MUSE Project creates opportunities for students to have signature learning experiences in the areas of community engaged learning, global health, research, teaching, and health policy.

Student and Community Engagement (SACE)

The Student and Community Engagement (SACE) Program at University of Utah College of Nursing fosters the development of life-long learning and community engagement. In addition, SACE programs encourage students to fully embrace their future roles as health professionals empowered to improve the health of individuals and communities through scholarship, inquiry, community engagement.

Global Health

In an increasingly global and mobile society, the landscape of health care is changing. The College of Nursing's Global Health Certificate helps students meet diverse local and global health needs, while broadening their skills, perspectives, and cultural competence. 

Center of Excellence in Women’s Health

The Center of Excellence in Women’s Health is a multidisciplinary group focused on enhancing the wholeness of health and wellness for women.
