Costs and Fees

Students complete 30 nursing credits while in the program. An additional 30 nursing credits are awarded for RN licensure at no cost to the student.

Under the new tuition cap for online programs, tuition for the RN-BS program will be a fixed rate of $260/credit hour. The RN-BS program is 30 credits, so tuition for the program is $7,800.

All students must apply to the University of Utah online campus through this link: Please note the deadlines and apply for the semester in which you plan to start the RN-BS program.

Additional costs associated with the program include:

  • University of Utah Application Fee: $55 (if not already a University of Utah student)
  • Matriculation Fee: $125
  • Book Estimate: $900
  • Background Check: $170
  • May include: laptop/computer, supplies such as paper/pens, additional textbooks

Scholarships and Funding

College of Nursing provides scholarships for RN to BS students. Students need to apply each year for scholarships. More information found here.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

FAFSA is the application to receive federal funding such as Pell grants, student loans, and more. FAFSA needs to be completed each year
