APRN Admissions & Application

Minimum Requirements

Following are the minimum requirements needed to apply for the APRN Post-Graduate Certificate program:

  • Completion of a College of Nursing certificate application
  • Completion of a graduate degree in nursing from a regionally-accredited university/college, or concurrent enrollment in a University of Utah College of Nursing graduate program
  • Verification of licensure as an RN and APRN in at least one of the jurisdictions of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • A personal interview may be required


December 1 for Fall semester start

Completed Application Includes:

  • Submitted College of Nursing Application
    • Select Certificate Programs when creating a profile
    • Select APRN Certificates for the certificate option on the second page of application
  • Statement of Interest
    • In your essay, please describe why you are applying for the certificate program and what do you expect to achieve and learn.
  • Resume
  • PDF copies of all college transcripts
  • Copy of certification
  • Three (3) Letter of Recommendation
