Application and Admission

Certificate applications are accepted on a rolling admissions basis

Students not currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program, but interested in pursuing a graduate certificate, will be considered a Non-Degree Seeking Student by the University of Utah and must complete a Non-Matriculated Student Application and pay a $55.00 fee.

Successful applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements set forth by the University of Utah College of Nursing.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants for the Care Management or Nursing Informatics Graduate Certificate:

Applicants for the Nursing Education Graduate Certificate:

  • College of Nursing certificate application
  • Evidence of a bachelor's degree in nursing from a regionally-accredited university or college, and concurrent enrollment in a University of Utah College of Nursing graduate program.
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

International Applicants

International applicants are not eligible to register for non-matriculated status at the University of Utah. International applicants for a graduate certificate would need to apply for second-bachelor degree status through the University of Utah International Admissions Office and meet the International Undergraduate Admission Requirements.
