Undergraduate & Graduate Certificates
Certificates provide baccalaureate-prepared students the opportunity to expand their knowledge in a specific area of nursing. Graduate certificates include 15 credit hours of coursework, and may accompany a graduate nursing program or studied as a stand-alone program. Upon completion, students receive a transcripted graduate certificate. Graduate certificates do not result in a degree.
Certificate Requirements
Gerontology and Graduate Nursing Certificate applications are accepted on a rolling admissions basis. Post-APRN Certificate applications are accepted for a fall start only.
Students not currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program, but interested in pursuing a graduate certificate, will be considered a Non-Degree Seeking Student by the University of Utah and must complete a Non-Matriculated Student Application and pay a $55.00 fee. Successful applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements set forth by the University of Utah College of Nursing.
International Applicants:
International applicants are not eligible to register for non-matriculated status at the University of Utah. International applicants for a graduate certificate would need to apply for second-bachelor degree status through the University of Utah International Admissions Office and meet the International Undergraduate Admission Requirements.
