Specialized Education and Practice
The College of Nursing offers undergraduate and graduate certificates for both nursing and non-nursing students. Certificates allow students to specialize in multiple areas of health care, adding to their professional background and patient-care knowledge.
Gerontology Interdisciplinary Program Certificates
The undergraduate and graduate certificates in gerontology provide an interdisciplinary study of the aging process and issues related to an aging society. The certificates are open to students from all academic disciplines and professions and serve to prepare the next generation of leaders for rewarding careers in the expanding field of aging. Available completely online.
Graduate Nursing Certificates
Certificates provide baccalaureate-prepared students the opportunity to expand their knowledge in a specific area of nursing. Graduate certificates include 15 credit hours of coursework, and may accompany a graduate nursing program or studied as a stand-alone program. Upon completion, students receive a transcripted graduate certificate. Graduate certificates do not result in a degree.

Post-APRN Graduate Certificates
Post-APRN graduate certificates are for APRNs who are certified in one area of advanced nursing practice and want to expand their specialty of advanced practice to another population. Students who fulfill the course and practicum requirements will be issued a certificate of completion of training, leading to eligibility to sit for national certification in a new area of care. While we do offer a distance option (synchronous and asynchronous classes), this is not a fully online program.
