How Can I Become A Member?
Members of Sigma Theta Tau International are nurses who have demonstrated personal commitment to nursing excellence. Membership is more than an academic destination; it's a dynamic partnership to be integrated and renewed throughout your career.
Members are invited by their institution's chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International.
Membership Criteria
Undergraduate requirements
- Have completed half of the nursing curriculum
- Have at least a GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 grading scale)
- Rank in the upper 35th percentile of the graduating class
- Meet the expectation of academic integrity
Registered Nurse student requirements
- Have completed 12 credit hours at current school
- Have completed half of the nursing curriculum
- Have at least a GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 grading scale)
- Rank in the upper 35th percentile of graduating class
- Meet the expectation of academic integrity
Graduate students (master's and doctorate) requirements
- Have completed one-quarter of the nursing curriculum
- Have at least a GPA of 3.5 (based on a 4.0 grading scale)
- Meet the expectation of academic integrity
Nurse leaders requirements
- Be a registered nurse legally recognized to practice
- Hold at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing or other field
- Have demonstrated achievement in nursing
