Caring for our Community

Faculty Practice Primary Care offers health services in a variety of locations along the Wasatch front and back, including the following:

RedMed Employee Clinic at the Student Union, University of Utah

RedMed is the University Employee Health Clinic located on the ground level of the A. Ray Olin University Union Building. College of Nursing Faculty & Staff provides care at the clinic. Our Nurse Practitioners and Graduate Assistants bring clinical expertise in individualized patient care to University employees, by assessing and treating work related injuries and other non-emergency medical conditions.

Summit County Health Department Clinics in Park City, Coalville, and Kamas

College of Nursing faculty provide Advanced Practice Nursing services at the Summit County Health Department in Park City where we serve patients who are underinsured or uninsured. We implement, coordinate and deliver services to county residents in the areas of women’s health, sexually transmitted diseases, health screenings, public health and other clinical services. We see scheduled patients for primary care and acute illnesses in Park City and in rural Kamas and Coalville.

Urban Indian Center, Salt Lake City

CON Family Nurse Practitioners deliver primary care at the Urban Indian Center in downtown Salt Lake City. With a focus on diabetes management, we employ best practices in the context of cultural integration and respect for the client. We work as partners with our patients to manage acute and chronic health care issues.

Student Health Center, University of Utah, Salt Lake City

College of Nursing’s Family Nurse Practitioners provide quality health care to students, spouses, and their dependents. Services include full service primary health care, Preventive and Well Care, Women's Health and Family Planning, Pediatric Care Services, SHAC HIV/STD Testing & Counseling Clinic, Immunizations, Travel Clinic, Low Cost TB Tests and a Sports Medicine Clinic.

Juvenile Justice Health Care Service

Juvenile Justice Services (JJS) of the State of Utah has contracted with the University of Utah College of Nursing (CON) to provide medical care for the youth in ten Wasatch front area facilities. Our goals are to provide optimal care for the physical and mental well-being of incarcerated youth while educating future health care providers. We work in a holistic manner to address current and potential health problems for the youth under our care. The CON/JJS nursing staff and faculty also serve as clinical mentors for registered nurse, nurse practitioner, and physician assistant students and medical school residents.
