Seeds of Remembrance

Caring Connections: A Hope and Comfort in Grief Program of the University of Utah College of Nursing will hold its annual Seeds of Remembrance event on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 7:00-9:00 p.m., at the College of Nursing (10 South 2000 East Salt Lake City, UT 84112). The event will also stream on Zoom for those who are unable to join in person.

Seeds of Remembrance is an opportunity for individuals to come together and cope with the loss of a family member or friend while honoring the memory of the person who died. It is generally held in the spring every year. Seeds of Remembrance is free and open to the public.

This year’s theme is Forging a New Path: A Way Forward in Grief.” The program’s featured speaker is Vickie Walker, founder of the non-profit Circles of Comfort. In 2007, Vickie’s husband was killed in a shooting at Trolley Square in Salt Lake City. Vickie went on to create Circles of Comfort, an organization that provides community support, resources, and information to victims of violent crime and sudden, unexpected death. In this year’s program, Vickie will be sharing her story and how she has been navigating her journey with grief.  The program will also feature musical performances by Esera Mose.
