Our Impact
Caring Connections is a certified trauma-informed agency and is equipped to assist persons grieving in the aftermath of traumatic and/or sudden death.
In 2024, Caring Connections provided 38 Grief Support Groups for 240 participants. Caring Connections grief support groups have a small fee. With generous support from Larkin Mortuary, we offer scholarships for this fee, for those who find this a hardship. This means that no one needing support is ever turned away from grief support groups.
Caring Connections also facilitates hundreds of calls annually to support individuals who have lost someone and connects them with appropriate community resources.
Caring Connections provides professional education in evidence-based care of grieving persons. In 2024, Caring Connections provided 21 trainings to 676 participants, including community mental health providers, first responders, teachers, and others who work closely with grief and loss, using funds awarded by the State of Utah Department of Health and Human Services. Trainings offered include Grief of Sudden and Unexpected Death, Grief of Suicide Death, and Grief of Overdose Death. In addition, we provide training, support, and restorative retreats to community agencies experiencing secondary trauma.
Caring Connections is on the forefront of an international movement to promote Grief Literacy and cultivate compassionate communities. Visit our Grief Literacy page for more information.
Overall, Caring Connections brings compassionate, trauma-informed, and evidence-based approaches to the practice and science of bereavement care in service to Utahns.
Our ongoing funding is primarily through grants and support from community members.
