Scholarship Eligibility
The College of Nursing offers scholarships to the following students:
- Undergraduate students accepted into the nursing program. Any interested applicant must submit a scholarship application by the deadline. Only applicants who are admitted will have their scholarship application reviewed.
- Currently enrolled students in the nursing program.
*Late applications will not be reviewed. Letters of recommendation received after the deadline constitute a late application
FAFSA Submission Recommendations
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Students
- Prospective and current students should submit a FAFSA application by March 1.
RN-BS Nursing Students
- Summer Semester Start students should submit a FAFSA application by February 15.
- Fall Semester Start students should submit a FAFSA application by March 1.
Scholarships
Mary Lou Pierce, RN, BS 1949 Scholarship
Mary Lou Pierce Peak was a 1949 graduate of the College of Nursing and served in the U.S. Army Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. She went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine in 1952 and specialized in pediatric, family primary care, and emergency medicine. Mary Lou was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and physician who raised six children and practiced medicine for 48 years. She passed away on September 20, 2022, in Boise, Idaho surrounded by family and friends.

This scholarship was established in 2020 by the Pierce Parke Peak Family Foundation Inc. to support one College of Nursing student who demonstrates the greatest financial need, is a US Citizen or permanent resident, and is in good academic standing. Scholarship Award is $4,000.
