Bridge Your Education
The Express Pathway is a bridge program allowing for Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) second-semester or third-semester nursing students to seamlessly enter the University of Utah College of Nursing Online RN to BS track upon completion of their SLCC program.
Program Benefits
- No additional RN-BS application
- Updates to your Express Pathway application will be required near the end of the SLCC Nursing program
- Up to nine months from graduation to starting the program
- 3 or 4 semesters (must pass NCLEX within two months of the program start
Application Requirements
- Must be a current second-semester or third-semester SLCC nursing student
- Application is open on March 1st through March 31st, July 1st through July 31st, and October 1st through October 31st
- All unofficial transcripts from all colleges and universities
- 3.0 Prerequisite GPA
- 3.3 Nursing GPA
Requirements to Start at the U of U
- Completed Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing from SLCC
- Completion of all University of Utah general education requirements
- Many SLCC students transfer with Associate of Science (AS) in Health Sciences to complete the necessary GE requirements
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities
- Completion of all eight College of Nursing prerequisite courses. Be aware that we only accept the most recent grade obtained.

- Nutrition Intervention (embedded in the SLCC Nursing Program)
