In this project, we held a series of focus groups with representatives from local Utah community health organizations, health departments, and community clinics to explore current health education needs in Utah communities and further assess how the COVID pandemic has impacted these local communities and organizations.

Collaborative Online Transcultural Education Training

(COTE)

This pilot Collaborative Online Transcultural Education training program aimed to prepare nurses who are fully empowered to provide quality patient care with cultural humility, and lead with confidence and empathy This was in collaboration with University of Utah College of Nursing, Nurse-to-Nurse Global Initiative and Aga Khan University, School of Nursing and Midwifery, Uganda.

Feasibility Assessment for Partnership

The purpose of this 2024 University of Utah trip to the Rwanda was twofold: (1) to advance our CON Global Learning Program; (2) to conduct a feasibility assessment of potential partnership with our University of Rwanda colleagues and other district hospitals and determine the potential for a mutually beneficial, sustainable and collaborative global learning engagement.

HPV Vaccination and HPV Cancer Prevention Boot Camp

This exploratory HPV vaccination and HPV cancer prevention boot camp training was held at Clarke International University (CIU) in Kampala, Uganda. The boot camp was attended by more than 65 healthcare students, nurses, midwives, faculty, and staff of CIU.
