
Bridge Your Education
The Express Pathway is a bridge program allowing for Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) second-semester or third-semester nursing students to seamlessly enter the University of Utah College of Nursing Online RN to BS track upon completion of their SLCC program.
- No extra applications, no extra stress.
- SLCC nursing students can transition directly into the U of U RN to BS program—no separate RN-BS application required.
- Simply update your Express Pathway file near the end of your SLCC program and begin your BSN within nine months of graduating.
- Earn your BSN in just 3 or 4 semesters.
- Once you pass the NCLEX (required within two months of the program start), you can complete your Bachelor of Science in Nursing while working as a registered nurse.
- Choose a timeline that fits your professional goals and personal life.
- Application windows that work for you.
- SLCC second- and third-semester students can apply three times per year:
- March 1–31
- July 1–31
- October 1–31

Requirements

- Completed Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Nursing from SLCC
- Completion of all University of Utah general education requirements
- Many SLCC students transfer with Associate of Science (AS) in Health Sciences to complete the necessary GE requirements
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities
- Completion of all eight College of Nursing prerequisite courses:
- Human Anatomy
- Human Physiology
- Elementary Chemistry
- Statistics
- Human Growth and Development
- Medical Microbiology (Microbiology)
- Pathophysiology
- Nutrition Intervention (embedded in the SLCC Nursing Program)

- Must be a current second-semester or third-semester SLCC nursing student
- Application deadlines are on March 1 through March 31, July 1 through July 31, and October 1 through October 31
- All unofficial transcripts from all colleges and universities
- 3.0 Prerequisite GPA
- 3.3 Nursing GPA
