I-SAFE Study
Inclusive Screener for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Financial Expenses
Dementia is a general term used to describe a decline in memory, and other cognitive skills, severe enough to impact a person’s ability to perform everyday activities.
Studies have shown that people living with chronic diseases or conditions are more likely to have financial hardship due to greater healthcare expenses.
What is the I-SAFE study?
- Purpose: develop a survey to assess financial hardship for persons living with dementia and their care contributors
- We aim to capture the experiences of all persons living with dementia and their chosen care contributors, regardless of race, religion, political belief, sexual orientation or gender identity, economic, or social condition
- Ultimately, the survey will be used to identify those with financial hardship related to dementia care and offer them support
