STUDENT-LED CLINICS

A solution to patient access to care and quality clinical learning experiences for nurse practitioner students

What is a student-led (run) clinic?

There over 400 student-run clinics (SRC) in more than 10 countries and 40 states in the United States. More than 200 universities support SRCs around the world as a collaborative approach to providing healthcare services to those most at risk and in need.  SRCs play a valuable role in educating healthcare providers to deliver high-quality care that improve outcomes.

How do SRCs benefit communities?

SRCs increase access to compassionate, comprehensive, high-quality healthcare to underserved patients and is culturally responsive, respectful, and patient-centered. SRCs strive to understand the barriers, strengths, and needs of the communities they serve.

How can SRCs benefit your clinic and patients?

SRCs often reduce the wait times for patients to get clinical appointments. Services are typically free to patients. Patients receive healthcare that is team-based and includes consultation and supervision from credentialed and experienced nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physicians, and physician assistants.
