Pathways in Nursing: SLCC Express Pathway
Looking into advancing your nursing career while still in school? The Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) Express Pathway is designed just for Salt Lake Community College nursing students who want a seamless bridge into the University of Utah College of Nursing’s Online RN to BS track. With flexible options, personalized advising, and the ability to get a head start while finishing your associate degree, this program is a fast, supportive way to earn your bachelors of science in nursing.
What to Expect in the Express Pathway
The Express Pathway is all about flexibility and momentum. Students enrolled in SLCC’s Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program can choose between two routes:
- Dual Enrollment option: students add one or two online BSN courses during their 3rd and 4th semesters at SLCC, giving them a head start on their bachelor’s degree before they even graduate.
- Post-graduation option: Students to wait until after completing their SLCC program and passing the NCLEX to begin the RN to BS track.
In either case, students can start within three semesters of graduating and complete the program in as little as two, three, or four semesters depending on their pace. Throughout the journey, every student works one-on-one with an RN-BS advisor to design a personalized program plan that fits their life.
Program Highlights:
- Completely online and asynchronous- log in anytime and complete your work on a schedule that works for you!
- Multiple program lengths: finish in 2, 3, or 4 semesters
- Interprofessional training with students in medicine, pharmacy, and other fields
- A focus on advocacy and leadership in nursing practice
Graduates of the Prelicensure Track don't just earn a degree, they step into the nursing profession ready to lead, innovate, and provide evidence-based care.
Qualifications & Prerequisites
To be eligible for the Express Pathway, students must:
- Be enrolled in SLCC’s AAS in Nursing program.
