Cynthia Beynon, PhD, MSN-Ed, RN, CNE, has been appointed as Assistant Dean for the Master of Science (MS) in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs at the University of Utah College of Nursing, effective January 1, 2025. Beynon will build on the College’s strong foundation of success and innovation, further enhancing its nationally recognized graduate programs.
Beynon brings more than 20 years of experience in nursing education and leadership to this role. Currently an associate professor (clinical) and director of the MS Education specialty track, she has a distinguished record of enhancing curriculum design, mentoring students and faculty, and contributing to research.
“It’s a privilege to step into this role and continue working alongside the talented faculty and staff at the College of Nursing,” Beynon said. “I’m excited to support students as they develop the skills to lead and innovate in today’s evolving health care landscape.”
Beynon holds a PhD in nursing science and a graduate certificate in gerontology from the University of Utah, as well as an MS in nursing education and a BSN from Weber State University. Her scholarly work includes publications such as the Journal of Gerontological Nursing and the Journal of Long-Term Care, along with presentations at national conferences.
